Founder

Clemens von Reitzenstein first started his career as an engineer after arriving to the United States to complement his IUT Mechanical Technology degree with a Bachelor degree in Engineering Science from Hofstra University.  He started working at Pall Corporation, where his efforts were central to the creation, marketing and manufacturing of proprietary filtration and particle separation technology, including the co-authorship of a U.S. patented product.

To further strengthen his business and finance skills, Clemens went on to obtain an MBA degree from NYU, Stern School of Business, with a double major in management and finance. Upon graduation he worked at Fredericks Michael & Co., a mergers and acquisitions boutique with offices in New York and London, providing financial advice in cross-border mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, buyouts and joint ventures to public and private companies in Europe, North America and Latin America.

Engrossed by the challenge of what makes some companies to fail while others grow and succeed, Clemens embarked in the field of management consulting and corporate turnarounds.  He joined Turnaround Associates and later Glass & Associates, two independent management consulting and turnaround firms with operations in the US and Europe.  Based in New York City but traveling nationally and internationally, Clemens served as turnaround consultant to companies such as Degussa AG and TRC Companies in the restructuring of underperforming operations in the U.S., Europe and Latin America.  He also served as interim management and Board Member of emerging, privately owned companies and published articles on the subject of business turnarounds.

It was during his work in turnarounds that he first got involved in the construction field.  After years of working as a management and financial consultant Clemens decided to pursue his passion for construction by dedicating his full attention to the sector and later starting his own company, Brace Enterprises LLC.  Aside from enjoying the fields of engineering and construction, Clemens saw the potential of utilizing his management and financial skills in a field known for its inefficiencies and lack of transparency – just to name a few.

In spite of the recession and sudden drop in construction activities, Clemens continues his path of steadily growing Brace Enterprises, while emphasizing project transparency and the elimination of inefficiencies.  It is also important for Clemens that everybody at Brace is aware that construction and renovations is, above all, a service sector where attention to details and consistent satisfied clients are the best way to grow the business.  Outside of Brace Clemens has also continued his efforts as a mentor and coach to new business ventures, including his involvement in the NYU Stern Entrepreneurship Committee and Stern Business Competition at the Berkley Center for Entrepreneurial Studies.
